When should you book your bridal makeup artist?
If you’re getting married in the next few years, here’s my honest advice as a bridal makeup artist: Book your makeup as soon as you’ve secured your date and venue.
Most of my brides book 12–18 months in advance, especially for peak wedding season. Some key 2026 dates are already full — and I’ve even had 2027 enquiries coming in!

Why It’s Worth Booking Early
Booking your bridal makeup early has several advantages. It allows you to:
Have first choice of dates.
Plan your trial with plenty of time.
Feel organized, calm, and ahead of the game.
Once you’ve booked, you can tick this important task off your list and focus on the next steps in your wedding planning!
What Happens If You Wait Too Long?
Honestly, waiting too long just adds unnecessary stress. Here are some potential pitfalls:
Your ideal artist might already be fully booked.
You could have to compromise on experience or style.
You may find yourself scrambling to find someone last-minute.
If having a relaxed morning and a flawless, long-lasting look is crucial for you, booking early makes a huge difference.
Suggested Timeline for Booking Your Bridal Makeup
To make the process easier, here’s my suggested timeline:
12–18 months before: Book your date with me.
Around 6 months before: Schedule your trial. We’ll try various looks, discuss skincare, and tailor everything to match your vibe.
1 month before: Confirm final details, and I’ll share some pre-wedding prep tips.
Last-Minute Availability
Even if you are closer to your wedding date, it's still a good idea to reach out. Sometimes I have last-minute or mid-week availability.
