When Should You Book Your Bridal Makeup Artist?

One of the questions I get asked all the time is:
“When should I book you for my wedding?” When should you book your bridal makeup artist?
If you’re getting married in the next few years, here’s my honest advice as a bridal makeup artist: Book your makeup as soon as you’ve secured your date and venue.
Most of my brides book 12–18 months in advance, especially for peak wedding season . Some key 2026 dates are already full — and I’ve even had 2027 enquiries coming in!

Why It’s Worth Booking Early
Getting your bridal makeup sorted early means:
You’ll have first choice of dates
We can plan your trial with plenty of time
You’ll feel organised, calm, and ahead of the game
And once it’s booked? You can tick it off your list and move on to the next thing!
What Happens If You Wait Too Long?
Honestly, it just adds more stress than you need. Leaving it late might mean:
Your ideal artist is already fully booked
You have to compromise on experience or style
You’re scrambling to find someone last-minute
If having a relaxed morning and a flawless, long-lasting look is important to you, book early. It makes a huge difference.
Here’s My Suggested Timeline:
12–18 months before: Book your date with me
Around 6 months before: Book your trial — we’ll try out looks, discuss skincare, and tailor everything to your vibe
1 month before: Final details confirmed, and I’ll give you some pre-wedding prep tips
Already closer to your date? It’s still worth reaching out — sometimes I have last-minute or mid-week availability!
